Li Sen Tan’s Karate Foundations

A couple of weeks ago I competed for Cambridge University at the BUCS Karate Championships. After successfully winning my first round of individual Kata, I narrowly lost the next round two to three. I found the experience of competing was a lot of fun, and enjoyed cheering on my teammates.

I found seeing all the other competitors and styles of Karate at BUCS to be very informative, a sentiment that I feel applies to my Karate training at university as a whole.

I've seen many more styles of karate since coming to university, and I've come across many different teachers who each have something to add to my training.

Overall, I am very thankful to SKC England for giving me a solid basis for my Karate to grow from, and I will continue to strive to improve with both SKC and with the university dojo.
